Sue’s challenge for the week is Smile. See for yourself the beautiful entries here.
Smile is something Filipinos do freely. We are dubbed to be very happy people because we smile a lot. I remember my youngest sister calling me here in the States from Manila telling me that they were preparing their picnic baskets to go to the People Power Revolution in 1986 (Filipino uprising against the late President Marcos that eventually toppled him and re-established democracy by installing the late President Cory Aquino, the mother of the current President Nonoy). I was so scared for them while my sister said everyone who’s going seemed to be very happy, like it was a big festival, literally a picnic. It turned out to be a happy and triumphant revolt.
Even amidst difficult times, calamity or disaster, Filipinos could always find something to smile about. Things could be worst, we know that, so we appreciate our good fortune of surviving any misfortune with a smile. It is remarkable!

Beautiful smiles!!
Thank you!
