My friend and I tried this new restaurant, The Pleasant House Bakery in Bridgeport, featured in the Travel Channel. They are supposed to have the best shepherd’s pie in Chicago and since am always open to trying something new, I thought today was a good day for it. Besides I needed to get something to brown bag to work for the next couple of days before the long weekend kicks in.
I had a late breakfast so I was still full and I just tasted my friend’s pie. They serve it real hot and the pie crust was tender and flaky. It’s meaty and filled with flavor.
In the end I ordered two pies for my lunch at work. Flavors from across the Pond.
Am always taking pictures of food especially when I am eating at a restaurant that I like so this is my entry for this week’s photo challenge: Focus.
Looks soooo yummy!

It was a good find. the pie I had, the steak/ale was very delicious and it is quite big for me, Lou and I shared it, their coffee is awesome too. Will surely come back and try the other varieties.

Oh, and the thin oatmeal chocolate cookie is sooooo good, you could easily devour three of them in one seating…lol

Perfect size for baon Dinna. I had steak pasty which I bought from there for lunch at work today and it was delicious although it was a tad salty.

Next time I want to try something else. How about the veggie ones.

Three? One is enough – it was huge. It would have been good if you ordered your coffee with it.

I could tell we have the same interests – food and good times with family. Among Filipinos, food is a good excuse to get together.
