365 Project: Day 14

For Frizztext’s A to Z Challenge for the week – B.

B is for Buddha.

You might find it strange why Filipinos keep images of Buddha in their homes even though they are mostly Christians. Many believe you will have good luck or will come upon some wealth if you keep them. Some people even have them as good luck charms.

The Buddha is always happy and smiling. You would think that would be the reason and I don’t know how the belief came about.

I have no proof if it is true either.

No, I don’t have one Lou but a Chinese vendor in Ongpin gave me a small gold-plated rabbit Chinese figurine when I bought a pair of earrings and necklace when my daughter got married more than 2 years ago. He said it is for good luck too.
