After Sissi ran away for days to the basement last summer, she no longer has the appetite to explore as she used to. She found the hard way that life there could be difficult. She was by herself and was cold and when the food was eventually denied her, she found she had to sneak in to get some food from Sly’s bowl when Sly wasn’t looking while she had the good life in the attic where she never found herself wanting for her needs.
Now it is Ms. Porker (Pixie) who’s getting the urge. Many times I’d find the door to the mainfloor open even though at times it has been difficult as the wood has expanded with the cold temperature. My friend has even sprayed W-4 to grease it to no avail. But I don’t know how she does it. She’s heavy but the door needs some manipulating.
I wish she could tell me how so I don’t have to fight the door sometimes.
She must be having cabin fever and I could hardly blame her. Other than that she’s a very affectionate companion and easy to call back to her room on the few occasions that she succeeded going down the stairs.
I know it is natural for cats to be curious but am trying to confine them to our attic apartment so the rest of the house is cat-free and dander-proof.
