Cee’s Share Your World 2014: Week 21

DSC_0107Here are my responses to Cee’s question for Week 21:

If you could make a 15 second speech to the entire world, what would you say?

We all could live in this world harmoniously despite our many differences in culture, religion, language, race, etc. We all value the same things, we could learn and share from each other. Respect our diversity and celebrate them.

If you could take a photograph, paint a picture or write a story of any place in the world, what and where would it be?

It would be a small town in Northern Philippines where my father came from. It has history as the second oldest Spanish city in the country and it is a scenic place, at the foot of the mountain and bordered by the South China Sea and the Abra River.

Life is not always easy. The delta gets flooded after heavy rains, eroding portions of land and in the upper part of town, the soil is arid and dry but the people are hard-working and God-fearing.

Many left the country to seek their fortune in other countries but they always go back because they are drawn by the beauty of the place where they came from.

If you had to spend one weekend alone in a single store but could remove nothing, which store would you pick?

How about Harrod’s in London. It would be interesting to see what the greatest store on earth offers.

If you were given a boat or yacht today, what would you name it? (You can always sell the yacht later)

I think I would name it after my mother.

Bonus question: What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

My BIL (brod-in-law) was hospitalized last week due to very high potassium which they say could affect one’s heart and many die from it. Am grateful that he had a chance to be brought to the hospital after his doctor found out. He is still in the hospital but at least he’s improving, although slow.

It would be such a relief when he goes home and rehabilitated back to normal.

Am looking forward to my nieces’ graduation celebration this weekend.

I hope your brod-in-law gets better real soon. Thanks so much for taking the time to participate in SYW. πŸ™‚

I seem to have found the most beautiful posts this morning, Bebs. Your photo of the iris for Cee is an absolute stunner, but what drew me here was your response to Q.1(exactly right!) and your Dad’s home in the Phillippines. So many bloggers that I know seem to yearn for that place. It must be incredibly beautiful. Have you visited? What a contrast with Chicago, a city I would love to see! Our diverse and amazing world πŸ™‚

Thank you for the thought Cee. He’s getting better now, can go up and down the stairs now but slowly and he’s got a walker. I’ll give him a couple of days more. Have a great week!

The last time I was there was 2 years ago. My parents and other members of our family from my father side were buried there so all the more reason we have to go back there all the time. It is a beautiful place where everybody knows everyone but during the summer the heat could be too much. You learn to get used to it.
