Blue Rose of Sharon

Hibiscus are my favorites but this cold weather variety which belongs to the same family has one habit which I hate – it self-sows.

Benny has planted them around the perimeter of their property and they are great privacy screens but this one was at the front edge of the flower garden. Once established they are hard to pull so the only way to control them once they are grown is to continue cutting them at the base and hopefully they’ll give up.

You can’t count your luck on that. They are very stubborn!

Well you can get a seedling nearest to the tree but there are no guarantees because there are so many colors around.
