Ailsa’s Travel Theme: Endearing

Viv with Daisy

Viv with Daisy

Today we went to pick up some garden produce from Viv’s friend, Tess. We were greeted at the door by a rambunctious four year old Daisy.

Tess went out on an errand so while waiting we played with her dogs. She also has another dog named Angel. Angel is older, 12 years old with a very calm personality. Exactly the opposite of Daisy.

Tess informed us that the two dogs are about to get new homes as she has too many things to take care of. The dogs were her grandchildren’s pets but you know how they are – they want pets but once they are home they hardly play with them, much more take care of the animals.

Daisy was so playful. I was surprised when she just jumped on my lap. She loves her tummy rubs. Viv and I immediately fell for her. Viv wanted to take her home since her other dog died last year and she wanted a mate for her aging Sly. But Daisy is too playful and too quick – I told Viv she might be too much for her. But it was love at first sight, she wanted to carry her home already.

Tess said the dog has been spoken for and she wants both dogs to leave the house together because she would feel sorry for Angel if she gets left behind. But at the threat of sending Angel to a shelter, I think Viv would be forced to adopt both. Angel’s quiet and gentle manner aside from her beautiful markings are very endearing to her but she is already limping.

The dogs will certainly have a great human mom with Viv – well if she really wants them, God may grant her wish. Let’s see.

That will probably put an end to the evening adventures of my two cats and convince them to stay safe in our apartment.

These dogs are so adorable, Angel, is a Bluetick Coon Hound with beautiful markings, she is a gentle senior dog while Daisy, is a very energetic Jack Russell Terrier, 4 years old, so still a puppy, so cute and pudgy, a touchy feely puppy, loves to roll over for belly rubs, and loves to snuggle and lick…I fell in love with both of them…Jack Russell terrier is a very intelligent, fearless dog, and have the tendency to be alpha dog, if you allow them, the life span 15 or more years. Bluetick Coon Hound is a gentle, devoted dog, but have shorter life span, maximum 12 years or so.

What are you going to do? You can’t leave Angel behind. I don’t mind your having 3 dogs, it will keep you very busy but will provide a lot of activity in the house. Sissi and Pixie will just enjoy their cocoon with me upstairs. Well Viv, if that’s what you really want and if you dangle the offer of taking them both maybe it will convince Tess to give them to you. Good luck!

    Decisions, decisions, decisions 🙂

Well for now, the dogs are staying with Tess, because her grandkids would not want to part with them. Tess told them, they better help with taking care of them, or she will give them away…

I think eventually she’ll give them to you. Come Winter and opening of schools, they will be too busy for the dogs especially that they don’t live with them.

I know. It is hard to be emotionally attached to a pet. At least you LolaWi have no decision like this to make because of your allergy. But if you are alone, a pet is a great company. Too much work and money though.
