A Word-A-Week: Fly

DSC_0042

This is my entry to Sue Llewellyn’s Photo Challenge for the week: Fly. To join and see more entries, go here.

This photo reminds me that I need to get the bird feeders for storage this weekend. No hummies came even though I left fresh nectars for them. And while my friend was successful in getting the birds to feed in her feeders, they were joined by the squirrels so she figured if she kept feeding them all she would have to file bankruptcy very soon as they were voracious feeders. I would have gladly kept feeding the hummingbirds if they came but they were a no show.

Well there is always next year.

Amazing capture! It’s not easy to capture hummingbirds, they move fast and are very tiny!

I read hummingbirds are very rare in the city so I’ve given up hope. You probably have a better chance.

I know, they are so tiny. Amy I sat in my cousin’s balcony waiting and watching them. Well the waiting wasn’t very long because there were so many of them. They are very fascinating.

They live in downstate Illinois Amy. It is country and they have two lush bushes of red roses that flanks both sides of their porch. She has 2 feeders on both sides – they were mesmerizing to watch.
