WP Weekly Photo Challenge: Reward

DSC_0080

We met Simply Beautiful at their church on Sunday and later went to their home for brunch of Filipino specialties brought by her husband from the Philippines.

The dishes appealed to Filipino taste and as a friend would say, would not be worth mentioning in perfumed conversations. You know what I mean but they gave us a taste of home and for a while they transported us to another place where the sun shines bright and the ocean beckons while one would watch from the shade of a palm tree.

We were so full by the time we parted and then we dropped by at the mall for some shopping. Tired from walking around looking to unload the calories, we decided to end our trip with a stop at Oberweis for ice cream. I was burping our past meal so it called for a dessert. Besides a great meal always ends with something sweet, right?

Not much of a sweet tooth person, am always on the look out for tropical flavors. The mango and pomegranate sherbet seemed to be the perfect medicine for a full tummy and to cleanse our palate.

It worked as expected – the combination of tangy and lightly sweetened concoction was sublime. A worthy reward.

Wow….sarap na bonding, Filipino food. BTW, so sorry I haven’t done the B & W challenge yet. Some of my friends that I am thinking of passing it to are not much into photo challenges but I have already selected five photos in B & W. I am not even active anymore with WP’s Weekly Photo Challenge.

Tuyo, daing ba? hehehe 🙂 Biyernes ngayon so fried dried pusit ang ulam namin 🙂

Yes Arlene. Tuyong danggit, pusit at baby espada. Tapos may taba ng talangka – homemade. Just post your b/w don’t worry if your friends will do it. Who knows, they might just do it.

Msarap yung binebenta nila ngayon dito na espada, konting fry lang, malutong. Dito pag ganitong panahon, daming daing. Masarap yung dried danggit, bumibili din ako plus yung dilis na maliliit.

It looks absolutely delicious! I have been running around doing errands and it looks like just the thing I could use as a reward. Could you send some over?. 🙂

It was absolutely delicious Sue. Better than ice cream. In fact we are suddenly having a heat wave here and I wish we have an Oberweis nearby.
