Travel Theme: Handmade

My entry to Ailsa’s challenge for the week: Handmade.

I love a good virgin olive oil especially for salads. Not all olive oils are the same and one needs to be careful at what they are getting. Some olive oil are not what they say they are. As for me am always wary about olive oil from China. I love to get the artisanal oils produced in California because even big name exporters from Europe, I read, mislabel their products.

This is an ingenious way of recycling those emptied escargot shells. Saw them at a Farmers’ Market in Pacific Grove, California.

These were being sold in a fancy boutique in Carmel, California. They make for a beautiful gift as a paper weight or as an alternative to those cheap and tacky souvenirs we fall victim to whenever we’re on vacation.
