The sun was out in full force yesterday. It was hot and humid. Friends arrived at 5:00 pm.
After some photo ops, I started grilling some burgers and hotdogs by six. We started eating around 6:30 pm and then we looked up in the sky.
It was getting dark and the temperature dipped lower. Cold breeze has lessened the humidity which we welcomed but we worried when the clouds was fast turning gray.
Then we started feeling one drop fall at a time. We knew it won’t be long before the sky opens up and drop buckets of rain. And it did and it came with gale force wind.
We were faster than the rain though. Before it poured we ran and brought indoor all our picnic food. We’ve forgotten our first bites and started all over again once we settled.
Though we welcomed the relief from the humidity, outdoors would have been better. That’s what summer is for.
After half an hour, the rain suddenly stopped liked a spigot turned off. The sun was bright again and the sky, cloudless. But all the seats were wet so we decided to remain indoors.
The afternoon storm did rain on our parade but it didn’t stop us in enjoying our evening.

It was a fun gathering of friends, the short storm did not dampen the spirit of camaraderie shared, it was a BLAST!
